THE OPPORTUNITY
The Town of Cochrane is looking for a full-time Manager of Infrastructure Services to lead the planning, development, and maintenance of essential public infrastructure. Reporting to the General Manager Community Services/Deputy CAO, this vital role will oversee various infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, water and wastewater systems, and waste operations while ensuring that all infrastructure initiatives align with municipal goals, regulatory standards, and community needs.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering or infrastructure management, along with proven experience in project management and team leadership. You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders including government agencies, contracts, and community members to deliver high-quality services and enhance the municipality’s infrastructure resilience. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Operational Oversight: Manage the maintenance and operations of municipal infrastructure, including roads, bridges, landfills, airport, waste and recycling systems, and water and wastewater systems.
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement long-term operational and capital improvement plans, aligning departmental goals with capital priorities.
Quality Assurance: Establish metrics to evaluate service effectiveness and monitor departmental performance to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
Customer Service: Implement a strategy to address and resolve customer service concerns efficiently.
Budget Management: Recommend budget allocations and explore funding opportunities to support departmental needs.
Policy Development: Review and update policies to ensure adherence to legislative and regulatory standards.
Project Management: Oversee engineer programs, manage tender processes, and monitor consultants/contractors for various infrastructure projects.
Community Engagement: Represent the department in interactions with community members, agencies, and advisory committees, fostering collaborative relationships.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure water and wastewater systems comply with provincial regulations, managing all reporting and inspections.
Infrastructure Department Leadership: Coach and support staff and promote health and safety practices within the department.
Reporting: Prepare and present various reports to Council and management, contributing to strategic decision-making.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Post-secondary degree or diploma in the area of road construction, maintenance, engineering, civil, or environmental engineering or related.
Minimum of five (5) years increasingly responsible management experience involving infrastructure operations, with a minimum of three (3) years management and administrative experience in municipal services and utilities, including planning, design, maintenance, and construction preferably in a unionized environment.
Membership in PEO or OACETT is preferred.
Working knowledge related to the Ministry of Transportation, MMAH, TSSA, Municipal Act, MOE, MOL, OH&S, WHMIS, Safe Drinking Water Act, WSIB, Health and Safety, wastewater, fuel, electrical.
GIS and AutoCAD experience.
Certified Roads Supervisor (CRS) or ability to obtain.
CMO Accreditation or ability to obtain.
Good understanding of road construction and maintenance, ditches, bridges, drainage, storm water, and storm water management.
Competency in analyzing complex public infrastructure maintenance issues and problems, and the ability to evaluate alternative solutions and develop sound conclusions, recommendations and course(s) of action.
Good understanding of managing drinking water and wastewater systems.
Knowledge of and ability to implement Health and Safety and risk management legislation, regulations and municipal requirements pertaining to the work of the department.
Computer proficiency in related departmental software.
Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively with rate payers.
Experienced in surveying (Level, Total Stations and GPS units) and AutoCAD.
Minimum valid G driver’s license.

Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies (FSWC) is a non-profit human rights organization committed to countering racism and antisemitism and to promoting the principles of inclusion, social justice and Canadian democratic values through advocacy and education.
THE OPPORTUNITY
FSWC seeks an experienced Educator fully fluent in French to join the education department. As an FSWC Educator, you will be responsible for leading innovative and inspiring programming in both in-person and virtual formats for elementary and high school students and educators across Canada. 
YOU WILL:

Learn Equity & Diversity workshops and lead student and adult participants through these workshops both in-person and virtual formats.
Learn Tour for Humanity workshops and lead participants through these workshops.
Contribute to the development of new educational programs and experiences that align with the goals of FSWC.
Build and maintain educational networks with teachers and community educators to ensure frequent re-booking, as well as participation in other educational programs.
Build and maintain relationships with survivor communities.
Assist with the planning, promotion, and successful execution of all educational events.
Support other FSWC team members as needed leading up to and during annual organizational events (i.e., Spirit of Hope, Voices of Change, etc.).
YOU ARE SOMEONE WITH:

Must be fully fluent in French language, oral and written.
A knowledge and understanding of Holocaust and genocide education along with the fight against hate, discrimination and antisemitism and the protection and advancement of human rights nationally and globally.
Strong and engaging presentation skills and creative approaches to generating interactivity with students in both virtual and in-person formats.
Ontario College of Teachers certification or equivalent experience along with a comprehensive knowledge of curriculum expectations an asset.
A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle that allows you to travel to schools (required).
Superior relationship-building and communication skills ensuring the ability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders at all levels of education.
Excellent attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence.
Self-motivated and decisive with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands.
A solid understanding of technology and how to navigate a variety of platforms (including Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Classroom, etc.).
WHAT YOU BRING:

Ability to teach in French a requirement.
A knowledge and passion about the Holocaust, genocide, antisemitism, and more general human rights issues from both an historical and contemporary perspective.
Bachelor’s degree in an associated field.
3+ years experience working with elementary and/or high school-aged students.
Flexible schedule that is open to early mornings and a willingness to travel across Canada to present programs.
