Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies (FSWC) is a non-profit human rights organization committed to countering racism and antisemitism and to promoting the principles of tolerance, social justice and Canadian democratic values through advocacy and education.
THE OPPORTUNITY
FSWC seeks a motivated and organized Antisemitism Programming and Outreach Lead to support our adult education initiatives for workplaces and professionals. This position will play a crucial role in promoting our programming to clients and partner organizations, emphasizing our mission to combat antisemitism and advance human rights. We are looking for a highly driven and organized individual with a strong commitment to combating hate and promoting understanding, and is eager to contribute to our vital work.
This is a full-time one year contract position funded through specific resources, with the possibility of extension based on performance and future funding availability. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working in a collaborative and dynamic environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in developing and executing project plans to promote our programs.
Create marketing and outreach materials that articulate the importance and goals of our adult education initiatives in alignment with our human rights objectives.
Support the planning and execution of webinars, workshops, and informational sessions that educate and engage clients and partners on equity and diversity issues, with a focus on countering antisemitism.
Collaborate with team members to strengthen and maintain relationships with clients and partners who support our goals and advocacy efforts.
Conduct research on best practices and emerging trends in antisemitism advocacy and adult antisemitism education, applying findings to enhance our projects.
Track and report on the metrics/impact of our programming.
Perform other tasks as assigned to support the Advocacy team in furthering the organization’s mission.
YOU ARE SOMEONE WITH:
A knowledge and understanding of antisemitism both historical and modern, and the ability to speak about it intelligently and with nuance.
Strong interest in and knowledge of Jewish human rights issues; discrimination and hate; and antisemitism advocacy.
Superior relationship-building and communication skills ensuring the ability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders at all levels.
Excellent attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire clients and partners.
Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence.
Self-motivated and decisive with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands.
WHAT YOU BRING:
Post-secondary education in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program (Human Rights, Political Science, Project Management, Marketing).
Previous experience in project management, advocacy, hate education or professional DEI/diversity initiatives.
